*My Father's World

This is my Father's world,
and to my listening ears
all nature sings, and round me rings
the music of the spheres.
This is my Father's world:
I rest me in the thought
of rocks and trees, of skies and seas;
his hand the wonders wrought.

This is my Father's world,
the birds their carols raise,
the morning light, the lily white,
declare their maker's praise.
This is my Father's world:
he shines in all that's fair;
in the rustling grass I hear him pass;
he speaks to me everywhere.

This is my Father's world.
O let me ne'er forget
that though the wrong seems oft so strong,
God is the ruler yet.
This is my Father's world:
why should my heart be sad?
The Lord is King; let the heavens ring!
God reigns; let the earth be glad!

Songs, in my mind are one of the very best ways to express the glory, wonder, majesty, and sheer greatness of God. This song in particular talks mostly about God's creation. It states, very clearly, that this is My Father's world. This phrase does a few things: It sends a very straightforward message that the world is Gods. It also makes an association between all things people, and all things God. The line He speaks to me everywhere is the perfect example of the depth of that connection. Also, when we know that the world is our Father's it gives us a sense of security.

Creation is the single most important event that shaped the universe to be as we know it. It is so important to the bible, that it is written about before anything else. The basis of our faith is that God created the heavens and the earth. If you don't believe that, then how can you believe anything else important to faith in the LORD

The bottom line is (literally) God chose to reveal his glory to us simply by the way he created us. What an awesome thing!

Thanks for reading!
